Hi,

Hello. I am faced with the same problem. I'm using fsarchiver 0.6.16 and had no difficulty creating a backup:
- successfully mounted an external Ubuntu folder via sshfs to /media/backup
- ran fsarchiver -s 2048 -z 3 savefs /media/backup/20130510/dellopti960.fsa /dev/sda1

This morning, I started up an identical PC and
- ran fdisk /dev/sda
- deleted old partitions, created new partition as ID 7 (HPFS/NTFS/exFAT), set it as bootable, wrote the changes
- ran mkntfs /dev/sda1 to format the newly created partition
- mounted the external Ubuntu folder via sshfs to /media/backup
- ran fsarchiver restfs /media/backup/20130510/dellopti960.fsa id=0,dest=/dev/sda1

I get the following error message:
archreader.c#112,archreader_open(): /media/backup/20130510/dellopti960.fsa is not a supported fsarchiver file format
thread_archio.c#145,thread_reader_fct(): archreader_open(/media/backup/20130510/dellopti960.fsa) failed
open_restore.c#1059,extractar_read_mainhead(): queue_dequeue_header(): failed: cannot read main header

I get the same error message if I run fsarchiver archinfo /media/backup/20130510/dellopti960.fsa

What's going on and how can this be resolved?

First, try version 0.6.17.
I get the same error message if I run fsarchiver archinfo /media/backup/20130510/dellopti960.fsa
It seems, your archive file is broken.

Same problem here, used fsarchiver 0.6.15 and 0.6.17, archive is not broken, original files were ntfs, restored to ext4. Run as root. Image was from June.

sudo ~/Downloads/fsarchiver-static-0.6.17.i386/fsarchiver-static-0.6.17.i386 restdir -d Backup.fsa /some/path

[errno=0, Success]: archreader.c#157,archreader_read_data(): read failed: read(size=4)=0
oper_restore.c#800,extractar_restore_obj_regfile_unique(): queue_dequeue_block()=-5=FSAERR_ENDOFFILE for file(/some/path/file) failed
oper_restore.c#847,extractar_restore_obj_regfile_unique(): queue_dequeue_header() failed: cannot read footer dico
oper_restore.c#877,extractar_restore_obj_regfile_unique(): removing /some/path/file.exe
oper_restore.c#994,extractar_extract_read_objects(): queue_check_next_item() failed: cannot read object from archive
oper_restore.c#1559,oper_restore(): extract_read_objects(/some/path/) failed

At this point the program stopped, there are a ton of files after /some/path/file.exe

Didn't work. Not amused. Thanks
