restore linux fs to larger or smaller partition

Post by danboid » Sat Oct 03, 2009 2:52 pm

Hi

I know fsarchiver (why not just just call it fsar? I prefer shorter command names personally ;) can restore ntfs to larger or smaller partitions than the source fs but can it also do the same for linux filesystems such as ext4? If not, is this a planned feature?

Also, are there any plans to integrate fsarchiver into FOG or clonezilla?

Thanks for the great imaging tools and your help!

1) Restoration to smaller/larger partitions is possible for all filesystems as long as there is enough space to store the files.
2) Clonezilla cannot use fsarchiver because fsarchiver does not provide data through pipes because seeks may be necessary
