Could fsarchiver be run from cygwin?

It would be great if FSA could run from within a Cygwin environment on Windows. Is it possible?

You could then capture a hot backup of a running Windows system.

The fact that Windows doesn't handle in-use file the same as a Linux system makes it impossible to backup those in-use file except when using a snapshot (or Shadow copie in Windows term), that would mean that just porting FS Archiver to Windows would not allow hot backups, NTBackup would be more suitable for this situation, because it will also deal with registry and other Windows-centric stuff.

Porting fsarchiver to windows may be possible but it would be a very complex thing to do, so it won't be done in the short term. We can plan such a feature in the long term if we spend a lot of time on that.
