[Solved] Fsarchiver logging howto?

Post by feffer777 » Mon Dec 13, 2010 1:34 am

I saw the earlier post about using the -d option to log errors, but my script isn't working. Probably something obvious:

Code: Select all

# Variables
fsalog=/var/log/backups/fsarchive.log
kubL_DEST=/media/data-srv/backups/laptop/kublap/images

fsarchiver -d $fsalog savefs $kubL_DEST/kublap_$Today.fsa /dev/sda2
This works fine w/o the "-d $fsalog" part, but my full script is much longer, runs unattended and it would be nice to get proper logging.

I've been using fsarchiver for over 6 months and it's a really nice program. Much appreciated.

thx,

The logfile is always /var/log/fsarchiver.log. The "-d" option is just used to increase the level of verbosity of the messages that go to the logfile. It does the same thing as "-v" for the console.
