fsarchiver and ssh for remote backup - stdin/stdout

I'd like using fsarchiver for transfering the backup through ssh. This is working fine with dd, ntfsclone and partimage:

Backup:
ssh [email protected] "dd if=/dev/sda1 | gzip -c " > backup.sda1.dd.gz
ssh [email protected] "partimage -z1 -b save /dev/sda1 stdout" > backup.sda1.partimg.gz
ssh [email protected] "ntfsclone --quite --save-image --output - /dev/sda1 | gzip -c" > backup.sda1.ntfsimg.gz

Restore:
ssh [email protected] "zcat | dd of=/dev/sda1" < backup.sda1.dd.gz
ssh [email protected] "zcat | partimage -b restore /dev/sda1 stdin" < backup.sda1.partimg.gz
ssh [email protected] "zcat | ntfsclone --restore-image --overwrite /dev/sda1 -" < backup.sda1.ntfs.img.gz

It would be great if fsarchiver could be used in a similar way.
