I've been using fsarchiver for a couple years now, and I'm realizing that an important security feature is the ability to change the password that is protecting an existing archive. I believe the way this is generally done is to encrypt using a randomly generated key file, and then to encrypt that key with the user's password of choice. That way, if they want to change the password without re-running the entire costly archive operation, the key can simply be decrypted with the old password and re-encrypted with the new password.
