File ... has been truncated

Post by tobiasBora » Fri Aug 15, 2014 4:35 pm

Hello,

I'm trying to save an ext4 partition on /dev/sda8 *NOT* mounted onto a device /dev/sdb1 mounted on /mnt/backup/, and on lot's of big files I've the following error:
open_save.c#184,createar_obj_regfile_unique();f file [/myuser/VirtualBox/Debian/Debian.vdi] has been truncated to 17436672 bytes (original size: 518462948); padding with zeros.

Usually this kind of problem occurs when the source partition is mounted but mine isn't (I checked with df).

Do you know where could be the source of the problem ?

Thank you,

Tobias.
