Can I restore a clonezilla image?

Post by mx-lin » Wed Jul 10, 2013 6:05 pm

Hi, I have a clonezilla image of a /home partition.
The problem is that the HD has been repartitioned since then
and that partition is now smaller than when the image was taken.
Clonezilla can not restore a bigger image to a smaller HD partition.
Can I use fsarchiver? Or, what would be your plan B in that situation?

Thanks

You can't use fsarchiver to restore clonezilla images.

There is no such feature yet, but you can extract the archive to a temp filesystem and you can use exclude to ignore most files to minimize the space and time required to restfs.
