Is it possible to restore a single file or a group of files?

Hi to all,
I would like to know if it is possible to restore a single file (or a subset of files) from an hard drive image.
I'm searching for a tool similar to "easeus todo backup" which has the ability to access the contents of an image (using a GUI) and select the files to restore (in case you want to do so otherwise you can restore the entire image).
Thank you,
Xwang

There is no such feature yet, but you can extract the archive to a temp filesystem and you can use exclude to ignore most files to minimize the space and time required to restfs.

Are there any plans for a future fsarchiver version which will be able to extract named files from a .fsa archive?
How hard would it be for an experienced programmer to add such a feature to fsarchiver?

Hi,

Sorry to reply to an older thread, just wanted to make you aware. I wrote a patch to try to add this functionality. It's over in the contributions forum. http://fsarchiver.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1631

Hi all,

there seems to be some patches already out there for this. Any chance to get them included upstream?
