Making archive of Crypto_luks partition

Post by session13 » Sat Dec 11, 2010 1:28 pm

Hi,

Is it possible to make archive of a encrypted partition which file system is crypto_luks? All my debian partitions are encrypted and I'm looking for an easy way for backup.

Thanks

fsarchiver works at the filesystem level. You have to give it the device that contains the clear filesystem which is /dev/mapper/something.
In other words you have to use cryptsetup to open the encrypted volume and then give fsarchiver the un-encrpyted device.
