Archive Restoration Problems

Post by DataMan » Tue Jun 29, 2010 9:02 am

I'm running into a consistent error message when attempting a resoration.

I'm using System Rescue ver 1.5.5 as the platform for archiving and restores. I'm using the 64 bit default options on boootup in Rescue CD.

The archives are stored in a ext3 partition image.

after making and mounting the source partition, the command issued for the restoration is:

Code: Select all

fsarchiver restfs /media/BUHDA/sda6-20100626.fst id=0, dest=/dev/sda6
The returned error message is:
oper_restore. c#145, convert_argv_to_strdi cos(); cannot find "dest" key in "id=0"
I would really like to deploy fsarchiver as my weekly partition backup platform, especially since partimage is limited to only ext3 (and not ext4 and ntfs).

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You have to remote the extra space in your command:

Code: Select all

fsarchiver restfs /media/BUHDA/sda6-20100626.fst id=0,dest=/dev/sda6
"id=0,dest=/dev/sda6" means "restore filesystem number 0 in the archive to /dev/sda6" so the two things work together. Spaces are used to separate arguments, so if you want to restore two filesystems from the same archive, it could be that:

Code: Select all

fsarchiver restfs /media/BUHDA/sda6-20100626.fst id=0,dest=/dev/sda6 id=1,dest=/dev/sda7

Thanks, the extra chr(32) was the culprit.
